I founded Niya’s Coily World (NCW) because, like many Black people, I grew up without the representation and tools to confidently embrace my natural hair. What started as a passion for braiding in my basement has grown into a movement to empower the next generation. We intentionally use the word “coily” to bring greater awareness to hair diversity and celebrate the beauty of tighter, thicker textures.
